I am increasingly disenchanted with politics, it is a never ending race to the bottom.  I don't want to sweat the small stuff--and while politics seems to permeate and infect everything and therefore feel like "big stuff"...from water cooler discussions to personal financial decisions...I am convinced that it is almost all "small stuff." 

David Cain wrote this and it really struck a chord because if the election really mattered to you, you'd do more than just vote.    

Today is the day that good citizens go out and vote their mind, or don't.
