everything is contagious

Seth Godin points to that study about obesity being contagious and draws the obvious conclusions that I hadn't considered. Of course obesity is contagious, in the sense that if you surround yourself with people that hold certain negative ideas about food and your bodies' relationship to food you will inevitably adopt them.

I am judged by the company I keep.

buy some TOMS

The idea of charitable consumption seems to be all around us, and I can see how it could really be a positive thing. There is a company called Toms Shoes that sells inexpensive shoes here in the US and all over the world and for every pair purchased a pair is donated to someone in need in a developing country.

It's easy, no confusing percentage or complicated algorithm...just buy a pair of shoes and a pair of shoes goes to someone in need. And they aren't exactly high fashion, but certainly no uglier than Crocs.

Pluggin and Chuggin

I firmly believe that if you work hard, serve others, and do your best---in the long run you can work your way from stock clerk to CEO.
Scott Adams recently wrote about "loser decisions" as it relates to career advice---it seems like he is writing exactly what I am thinking albeit in a much more humorous and creative way than I would ever come up with.
I've been facing a torrent at work and I have to admit that I can't figure out which direction is the loser decision, I believe they call that analysis paralysis...but frankly I'm at the point where I don't trust myself to make a decision, my track record is poor enough to suggest that I should seek professional profession help.
Until then, I will just keep pluggin and chuggin.

three good reasons for a vacation
