I have to take J-dub to task...he said, "Sticking with the new branding campaign, Bush came right out and told us that we're in Iraq for the long haul. He flat out doesn't care what anyone thinks, he's doing what God told him to do. Secure the oil. Someone needs to tell him Dick Cheney is not God."

That pissed me off too. The question was: what was the 'real' reason you wanted to go to war in Iraq?
This is like the classic "do you still beat your wife" question. It assumes Bush has so-far lied about his reasons for going to war. Stupid stuff.
And you regurgitated all the same rationale that Bush has been spewing all along. I don't dispute those are the reasons they gave for going to war. Were they only reasons? Was it worth the cost?
If we have accomplished what we set out to do, why are we staying for the rest of his presidency?

You are correct, there is no point arguing with some people, they refuse to enter into the conversation in good faith and deny easily verifiable fact while alluding to conspiracies and conjecture that can neither be confirmed or denied.
